CABIN SELECTION CRITERIA
.
All of these Adirondack cabins are for rent on Airbnb and were selected based on price, overall Airbnb rating, aesthetic, and balance between seclusion and convenient location.
In an effort to share affordable cabin rentals in the Adirondacks, I mainly selected cabins that are less than $300 per night (not including Airbnb service fees or cleaning fees), although the prices may fluctuate as the the rates and minimum stays differ throughout the year. There are also a few higher priced exceptions on this list that I felt were worth sharing, either because of the aesthetic, the location, or a combination of both.
As of December 2020, all of the cabins on this list are rated 4.7 stars out of 5 or higher.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CABIN RENTALS IN THE ADIRONDACKS
.
Where should I stay in the Adirondacks? The best place to rent a cabin in the Adirondacks depends on you and the experience you want to have. However, the areas around Old Forge and the High Peaks tend to be the most popular.
How do you get there? Is there public transportation available? There is no public bus or train system in the Adirondack Park. To get around, you will need to rent a car or arrange transportation with your host to get to your secluded Adirondack cabin.
Will I need 4 wheel drive? You may need 4 wheel drive to access some of the more secluded Adirondack cabin rentals on this list, especially in the winter. Contact your Airbnb host for their recommendation.
Why does the cabin only have 1 bed but can accommodate 4 guests? Cabins vary widely in the sleeping arrangements they can accommodate. For instance, some listings only specify 1 bed (often a loft), but can accommodate more guests on a sleeper sofa or air mattress.
Will I have cell phone service and wifi? Some of the cabins on this list do have cell phone service and wifi, while others provide a more secluded off-grid experience, and are therefore totally disconnected. I tried to include that information in the cabin descriptions, but its best to check the “Amenities” list on the Airbnb listing.
Does the cabin have running water and electricity? Similar to cell phone service/wifi, some of these cabins do not have running water and electricity. Please read the Airbnb description carefully and come prepared if necessary.
What should I pack? Some cabins come equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, while smaller off-grid cabins tend to be more bare bones. Some cabins even require you to bring your own towels, linens, or even camping equipment. For more details, read the listing carefully and check with your host prior to your stay so that you can pack necessary essentials.
